Introduce yourself to us – what’s your name, where are you from and where do you live now?

I go by the name of Doina Ciobanu, but you can just call me Doina (pronounced DOYNA). I was born in Moldova (tiny country you've probably never heard of in Eastern Europe). But I've been living ... if you can call paying the rent there and spending only about 15% of my time there, you can say I've been living in London for over 3 years now.

How did you get into fashion blogging? Was it a natural transition or was it always something you knew you wanted to do?

Funnily, a lot of people get the impression that I first modeled and then got into blogging, but my path was the other way around. I started blogging when I was 16 (7 years ago, oh boy!) which was a pretty big revolution for Eastern Europe. It really enabled me to escape from the local market into the international fashion industry and if it wasn't for the blog I'd probably not be modeling, speaking at conferences, doing business consulting, or anything else I'm doing right now. Modeling came later when Next Models discovered me and wanted to sign me both as a talent and as a model. That's when my life got a lot more interesting as everything I was doing escalated and suddenly I had hundreds of opportunities in front of me.

What is your favorite part of what you do?

Speaking and meeting people. I absolutely LOVE speaking at conferences either about business development or social issues. As a public person, I feel so responsible to communicate certain things to people, especially to the younger generation, share my experience with them and maybe even help with something they're trying to build.

Can you tell us about a typical day in the life of Doina Ciobanu?

Probably waking up at 5am to catch another flight, having no idea where I'm staying and what exactly my schedule is going to be like. As a control freak that still makes me super nervous! But I actually love flying, especially long haul, because flights are the only situations when I actually get the time to read, and I love reading so much.

We see you are always traveling the world and visiting super dreamy places. Do you have a “most memorable” trip you can tell us about?

Japan! It's my absolute favourite country and I remember every single thing about it. Especially Kyoto completely conquered my heart, it's such a dream destination, it has nature, culture, quietness and inspiration all around. Making it my goal to go back soon.

We always love all the pictures you take - they are always so original and organic! Where do you get your inspiration from?

Ah, thank you so much! I get inspired a lot by history, cultures of the world and people. Whenever I travel to a different destination my style changes as you've probably noticed. I'll be sexy in Italy, school girlish in Japan, masculine in London, strong in NY, chic in Paris... I really hate being labeled so I just try to stay true to my personality and what I feel my mood is telling me.

Are you a creature of habit (i.e. you like your routine) or a spontaneous adventurer?

A planned adventurer haha. I get tired of routines, but then I go on an adventure and I love it, but it exhausts me a lot. I think we're all a bit of both and the essence is cycling it around so you never get bored of life.

In three words, my style is: my mood, unpredictable, my self-expression.

If I could live in any city in the world, I’d choose:

Barcelona.

If you could base your wardrobe off of one city's fashion/ambiance, which would it be and why?

Oof, that's really really hard. Probably New York? I feel like you can do any style in NY, while somewhere like London you can get put down for being sexual for instance.

What is your go-to accessory right now and why do you love it so much?

Apple watch. Helps me keep track of my standing and movements... I'm also in a permanent competition with my boyfriend for who walks more, so that's really the reason.

One Fall trend I’m loving right now is: baggy knee high leather boots. And one I can’t get on board with is: Furry crocs x5!

What’s your favorite piece from the FL&L Fall collection?

That's too difficult! I guess the Rosebud Embroidery bodysuit... but also the Beatrix velvet skirt and vest.
