Girls of Summer Part 2: Helena Vestergaard

If the For Love & Lemon's girl could be any season, she would be the summertime. She is as carefree, magnetic, and effortlessly beautiful as those late afternoons of sun kissed skin and salt in her hair.  It’s a haze that falls over us. It’s a time for following adventure, wherever it may lead you, and the memories that we keep close to us; a stream of carefree and easy days to fill our daydreams.

It’s a time where “normal” does not apply, rules and schedules are irrelevant, all that guides us is what inspires us.

For part two of our Girls Of Summer series, we caught up with one of the dreamiest babes we know, Helena Vestergaard. She embodies the freedom and fearlessness of the summertime, so we thought it would only be right to ask her what her most treasured memory of summers past was; along with the looks that inspire her summer day dreams. Enjoy!

HELENA'S SUMMER STORY

"I think I fell in love with him the second I looked down at his scuffed up Doc Martins, the exact same pair of not-so-trendy-at-the-moment beat up boots that I had been sporting all summer. I traced his tattoos with my eyes and slowly met his drunken gaze… safe to say it was out of my control at that point. He looked as though he must have been half vampire, with pale skin and some sort of unusual style that drew me in like a moth to a flame. I walked up to him, and said something along the lines of, “nice shoes.” He mumbled something inaudible in return and that was it.

It was the summer of 2009 in Australia and I don’t think we got any sleep whatsoever. We were lost in one another; the kind of innocent and trusting love with no limit that drives you crazy yet somehow keeps you sane at the same time. Those summer nights, and the next three summers after that, were filled with the most raw and beautiful moments in my life, pushing every boundary imaginable and growing together. Billy taught me a lot; he was my first love, and to this day I still miss those summer nights and that god damn boy."
